Fact of the Week

According to Colorado State University, sunlight delivers about 1 KW to a square meter of the Earth's surface under optimal conditions. All solar projects, whether thermal or photovoltaic, scale up to high power by covering as much area as possible with solar collectors. The high availability of sunlight in desert areas coupled with solar power’s need for land make deserts a good choice for large projects.
